FritsJurgens System M+ Self-Closing Pivot Hinge

The Story

System M+ is a self-closing, fully adjustable pivot hinge system engineered for doors from 20 kg to 500 kg. Concealed inside the door and floor, it provides complete control over every part of the door's movement through three independent adjustment systems. No visible frame, no overhead closer — just a door that moves exactly as specified.

How It Moves

Damper Control provides adjustable hydraulic resistance on both opening and closing. On opening, a hydraulic back-check slows the door as it approaches 70° to protect walls. On closing, it delivers a smooth, controlled soft-close through the full arc of travel.

30° Speed Control governs the final phase of closing independently, ensuring the door always returns to position gently regardless of how fast it was opened or released.

Latch Control adjusts the latching force in the last degrees before closed position, guaranteeing reliable engagement of latching bolts every time. Essential for exterior doors and any door with a mortise lock.

The system is self-closing from 125° and −125°, with hold positions at 0°, 90°, and −90°. Single and double-acting configurations are available. The radial closing angle is adjustable up to 5°, and axial adjustment of ±5 mm is available from the top pivot.

Choosing Your Configuration

The backset determines where the pivot point sits relative to the edge of the door. All three options use the same bottom pivot mechanism and are available across all weight classes.

70 mm Backset 40 mm Backset TP-R (Top Pivot Reversed)
Pivot point Flexible — from 70 mm to centre of door Fixed at 40 mm from door edge Reversed — pivot mechanism at top of door
Cover plates Not available Included — stainless steel or black Included — stainless steel or black
Best for Most residential and commercial installations. Greater flexibility in pivot placement. Narrower doors, maximum clear opening, ADA-compliant widths from a standard slab. Installations where floor routing is not possible or where top-access servicing is preferred.
System dimensions (Class AA–E) 294.8 × 32 × 99.6 mm 272.7 × 32 × 149.6 mm Per TP-R specification
System dimensions (Class F–G) 308.2 × 42 × 112.7 mm 284.7 × 42 × 169 mm Per TP-R specification
Depth in door (Class AA–E) 100 mm 150 mm Per TP-R specification
Depth in door (Class F–G) 113 mm 169 mm Per TP-R specification

Weight Classes

Weight class is determined by both door weight and door width. All three configuration options are available across all eight weight classes.

Class Door Weight Series Min. Door Thickness
AA 20 – 79 kg M32+ 40 mm
A 80 – 119 kg M32+ 40 mm
B Up to 159 kg M32+ 40 mm
C Up to 209 kg M32+ 40 mm
D Up to 279 kg M32+ 40 mm
E Up to 349 kg M32+ 40 mm
F Up to 429 kg M42+ 50 mm
G Up to 500 kg M42+ 50 mm

Note: For Class B through E, door width may require an upgrade to a Class G top pivot (TP.G). The FritsJurgens Selector will confirm based on your door dimensions.

Floor Plates

All floor plates are 80 mm in diameter or width and are compatible with underfloor heating installations. The floor plate shape and finish are selected at time of order. Flush (recessed) floor plates are designed for exterior-mounted door applications — required for drop seals and weather-tight threshold details.

Floor Plate Bottom Gap Radial Adjustment Finishes Notes
Square 11 mm ±2.5° Stainless Steel, Black Surface-mounted — interior applications
Round 11 mm ±2.5° Stainless Steel, Black Surface-mounted — interior applications
Flush Square 7 mm No Stainless Steel Recessed into sill — exterior-mounted doors, required for drop seals
Flush Round 7 mm No Stainless Steel Recessed into sill — exterior-mounted doors, required for drop seals
