Tense Pendant Lamp

The Tense Pendant Lamp by New Works is a large-format pendant light with a soft Tyvek diffuser that creates a cloud-like floating effect. Stretching to over one metre in length in its largest size, the fixture offers balanced illumination — 50% upward and 50% downward light distribution — for a soft ambient glow. The diffuser is 100% recyclable, and all components fit into a slim box for ease of transport. Available in 4 sizes.

Installation Note

The Tense Pendant is crafted from lightweight Tyvek and may move or swing when exposed to air currents. The shade attaches to the power cord via a strong magnet — strong drafts may cause the magnet to detach. Position in a controlled environment free from excessive airflow. Indoor use only.

Replacing the LED

Disconnect the magnets holding the LED bulb. Open the shade on the side, carefully remove the LED bulb, and replace. Reattach the magnets to secure.

Materials

Shade: Tyvek membrane (100% recyclable), tightened with carbon rods. Cord: Black PVC.

Wrinkles are a natural part of the fabric and give each lamp unique character. They typically smooth out after 6–8 weeks of hanging. Tightening the velcro band helps even out wrinkles sooner.
